We are looking for a (Marketing) Intern to support our going to market in our office at the Technopark in Zürich. We don't have a specific profile in mind but instead are looking for someone who is interested in working in an entrepreneurial environment and making things happen - degrees or grades are not that interesting.

• Starting Date: December 1st 2010 (or as agreed upon)
• Location: Zürich (preferably, but we are flexible)
• Duration: 3-6 months

Currently we can offer a salary of CHF 1000 per month which should cover your basic cost of living in Zurich during your tenure.

About You

• You are interested in marketing and comfortable with technology. 
• You are native to the internet.
• You are resourceful.
• You want to have an impact on the world around you instead of just living in it.
• You want to work for a young startup.
• You want to make things happen and to do so you desire responsibility.
• You like working independently.

Ideally you have worked in marketing before - maybe even in a startup - or you have realized own projects before. Your English is at least close to native.

What you will be doing

As a part of our team you will be integral to the launch of our product. Together with Marcus - one of our founders - and Fabio - our head of marketing - you will be planning, preparing, and executing the launch of our web service.

As such you will be analyzing our competitors, co-develop our strategy, implement decisions etc. Our goal for your internship is to successfully launch our product and we need your help to do it.

More than just a salary

We are aware that the salary we are able to offer cannot compete with some other offerings out there but there is more than salary when it comes to the rewards of a job.

• Working hours are very flexible. For us it is all about getting things done and doing them right. When you do them is up to you.
• As an internet startup that is set up as a global virtual team there is no need for you to be in the office to do your work. We will provide you with a laptop (if you do not want to use your own) and a place in our office but you do not need to be here all day long.
• As we are a lean organization you will be an integral part of our team from day one. You will manage your own projects and take on involved responsibilities.

• You will get an introduction to the entrepreneurial scene and a test drive on what it is like to work for a startup.
• We will take you with us to events to promote connex.io alongside with us.
• By being thrown into cold water and pushed outside of your comfort zone you will learn a heck of a lot every day.
• When going out for drinks the first beer/drink/whatever will be on Marcus.

Who we are

connex.io is creating an address book that updates and distributes itself - taking the hassle of managing your address book away from its users. No more duplicates, no more old data, no more lost contacts. To do this we built a "peer-to-peer" network of existing address books and are using that to collect all the contact information one person has and based on that create the best possible address book for that person.

We are a rising global internet startup. The two founders met during their studies in Singapore and started working on connex.io. The company is organized as a virtual team in which members can participate from anywhere around the world, but we have two hubs. The development of the technology behind connex.io is directed from Ashgabad (Turkmenistan) and the business side of things is guided from Zurich (Switzerland).
